KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad holds the United States (US) responsible for the tragic deaths of Palestinians in Gaza.
In a recent post, he highlighted the crucial moment when the call for a ceasefire resolution was presented before the Security Council.
The US's refusal to endorse the resolution, in Dr Mahathir's view, ultimately led to the loss of these lives, labelling the US as culpable for the deaths of these martyrs.
He posed a rhetorical question, pondering when the ceaseless cycle of killings would finally halt.
Dr Mahathir stressed his belief that Israel would persist in its relentless onslaught against Gaza until it attains its objective of eradicating Hamas.
"Since the bombs and rockets cannot identify Hamas, all Palestinians must be killed because among them there would be Hamas.
"When Palestinians in Gaza are killed then Hamas personnel hiding among them will be killed.
"The Palestinian babies and children who would also be killed are just collateral. Besides, they are likely to become members of Hamas when they grow up. So killing them is a part of the war for the security of Israel," he said in a statement on X today.
The former prime minister restated his query regarding the termination of Palestinian fatalities, emphasising that Israel's relentlessness would persist until the complete eradication and cessation of Hamas' existence.
"Since this can only happen when all the people in Gaza are killed and are no more, genocide has to be carried out.
"Only when there are no Palestinians in the world will Israel be secure."
"So, America must uphold the right of Israel to continue the war and to kill all Palestinians," he remarked in a distinctly sarcastic tone.
