TAPAH: A man was found burnt to death in a car at Batu 23, Jalan Pahang here last night.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department deputy director (Operations), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said they received a distress call regarding the incident at 10.04pm last night.

Following the call, a team of firemen from the Tapah Fire and Rescue station was dispatched to the scene.

He said that the fire involved a car that was 50 per cent burnt and destroyed.

"There was one male victim, believed to be a 50-year-old Orang Asli man who was found burnt in the back seat of the car," he said.

Sabarodzi said that the fire was put out by members of the public before Fire and Rescue Department personnel arrived on the scene.

He said that the Fire and Rescue Department personnel then assisted police to extricate the victim's remains which were then handed over to the police.
