JOHOR BARU: A couple was evacuated from their house in Taman Selesa Jaya here when it was flooded in metre-deep waters following heavy downpour today.
Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Kamarulzaman Salleh said an 11-member team were despatched to the housing estate at 3.19pm.
However, upon their arrival, the couple were helped out of their house by neighbours.
Kamarulzaman said rescuers also conducted checks in the remaining houses to ensure that their occupants and pets were not at risk due to the flash floods.
The flood receded about an hour later after the rain stopped. There were no injuries reported among the residents.
