KULAI: Thirty-seven people on an express bus escaped serious injury when it veered off the road and overturned at Km41.5 of the North-South Expressway (northbound) in Simpang Renggam, near here, today.

Fire and Rescue Department Operation Commander Abd Rahim Razali said three passengers were trapped in the bus during the incident at 3:54 am.

The remaining passengers, including the driver—13 men, 16 women, and four children (two boys and two girls)—escaped without injuries.

However, one of the 16 women sustained a minor neck injury, while the three passengers who were trapped in the bus suffered minor injuries.

The three trapped passengers were rescued from the bus and rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
