KUALA LUMPUR: A university student is believed to have died after falling from the 34th floor of a condominium on Jalan Raja Abdullah, Kampung Baru here last night.

It is understood that the 18-year-old student wanted to retrieve his clothes from the balcony of his condominium before falling.

Dang Wangi District Police chief assistant commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said that the police received a report of the incident at 8:17 pm.

According to him, the teenager's body was found on the lower floor of the 39-story building.

"Based on investigations and statements from two witnesses, the teenager was said to be attempting to retrieve a piece of clothing that had fallen onto the edge of the balcony.

"He was reported to have climbed onto a table and then scaled the balcony railing, but lost balance and fell," he said in a statement today.

He said the body was taken to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (IPFN) at Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further investigation.
