KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will schedule six proceedings to look into losses involving federal departments and statutory bodies raised in the 2022 Auditor-General's Report.
PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the committee would schedule proceedings to address the Integrated Foreign Worker Management (ePPAx) and Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS) on Dec 5; Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Holdings Sdn Bhd on Dec 6; Special Audit on Forest Management Environmental Impact on Dec 12; and the Paddy Plantation Programmes Management on Dec 13.
The proceedings for the National Flood Forecasting and Warning Programme, and the Upgrading and Reconstruction Management of Dilapidated Schools would be held next year.
She also said the PAC would hold the proceedings on the Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) Property Development Management at 3.30pm today.
"Present to record their statements and explanation today are Treasury secretary-general Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican, Treasury deputy secretary-general (investment) Datuk Dr Shahrazat Ahmad, and Lada deputy chief executive officer (planning and development) Wan Kamarul Wan Kamardin.
Last week, the 2022 AG report on the Activities of Federal Government Ministries/Departments and Federal Statutory Bodies found losses in six cases of public funds worth RM681.71 million.
In the report, the AG had also revealed that a total of RM259.98 million was invested in UiTM Holdings through capital injections and loan-to-equity conversions without the Finance Ministry's approval.
Meanwhile, Mas Ermieyati said the PAC would also conduct proceedings on the management and finances of the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) training programmes on Dec 6.
"The witnesses for this proceeding will include HRD Corp board members Datuk Raiha Azni Abd Rahman and Datuk Palaniappan Joseph.
"To date, the PAC has conducted five proceedings and summoned witnesses including HRD Corp chief executive Datuk Shahul Dawood, Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar, and HRD Corp 2022 board members," she added.
