KUCHING: A man who claimed that he found out on the day he was supposed to get married that his fiancee was actually a mother of two and married to someone else revealed that he is still very sad and devastated by what has happened.

Nurul Aiman Kamaruddin, 28, said he never expected that his dream wedding would go down in flames after all the preparations had been made.

"I was serious about getting married and settling down. That is why I travelled all the way to Sarawak to meet with her family.

"However what happened was unexpected, I am so sad as not only do I have to bear the cost but it has also been a very embarrassing affair.

"But I am taking it as test from Allah SWT and my family has been very supportive. They are advising me to stay calm and to be patient," he said when contacted by Harian Metro on Wednesday.

Regarding his Facebook post which has since gone viral, he said that he could not bring himself to read the comments made by netizens.

"I could not bring myself to read the comments after putting up the post as I need space for myself after going through such an ordeal.

"Anyway, the proof is there so I leave it to the police to carry out an investigation.

"I am also not in contact with her, the last time I tried to contact her was on the day we were supposed to get married, even then she did not answer and her father also rejected my calls.

Nurul Aiman said he never doubted or suspected anything amiss regarding his fiancee's status because her father was present during the engagement.

"From the very beginning when we first got to know each other, she introduced herself by a different name.

"I believed and trusted her and I was confident with what she shared with me. I never thought that it would end up like this," he said, adding that he has lodged a report at the Daro police station here on Nov 10.

Earlier, Nurul Aiman attracted the attention of netizens after he putting up a post on Facebook about his wedding day which turned into a nightmare when he found out he had been lied to by the woman who is believed to be married with two children.

He had been engaged to the woman since Oct 12. The engagement ceremony was held at his future sister in-law's house following a request from the woman and her father.

According to him, all the preparations for the marriage were already made beforehand including the 'hantaran' for the bride's family.

His post attracted a lot of attention, with many sympathising with him, while there were some who claimed that he had not moved on.

So far, the woman has not come forward on the matter.
