KUALA LUMPUR: The Centre for Human Rights Research and Advocacy (Centhra) wants the international community to exert pressure on the Egyptian government to permit the continuous and immediate flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza by opening its borders.
Its chairman and founder, Azril Mohd Amin said Gaza was facing an escalating humanitarian crisis with an estimated 2.3 million Palestinians on the brink of starvation and death due to the ongoing genocidal Israeli ground attacks and airstrikes.
He emphasised that essential resources such as water, food, fuel, and medical supplies were in critically short supply, worsening the plight of civilians.
"The healthcare system in Gaza is on the verge of collapse, either from direct Israeli attacks or due to the shortage of vital medical resources and electricity needed to treat patients.
"The deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, including homes, bakeries, water treatment plants, schools, and clinics, has pushed the population to the brink of death," he added.
Furthermore, he condemned Israel's relentless bombing campaign, stating that the defenseless civilian population had endured terror and devastation for an excruciating 35 days.
Azril wants the international community to intervene in every possible capacity to halt the ongoing genocidal attacks.
"Hundreds of aid trucks are stranded in the desert, waiting to access the Rafah crossing. We demand unhindered access for these aid trucks to reach the Palestinians in dire need of assistance."
"All governments and individuals must take swift action to end this humanitarian horror."
