PETALING JAYA: A driver was found dead lying on the road at Jalan Bukit Mentari Selatan, Section 7 here yesterday morning.

Petaling Jaya district police chief, Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said that they received an emergency call from a member of the public who found a man lying on the road at the said location at 7.08am yesterday morning.

"Investigations were carried out by the forensics unit from the Selangor Police Contingent headquarters at the scene where witnesses interviewed saw the victim walking before he fainted, collapsed.

"The victim who is 53-years-old works as a driver. When the incident happened, he is believed to have been walking to his employer's house," he said in a statement yesterday (November 14).

He said that apparently the victim has a routine of walking to his employer's house every morning.

"Initial investigations found that there were no criminal elements and the body has been sent to Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya's (PPUM) forensics department for post-mortem which will be carried out today (November 15).

"So far, the case is being classified as sudden death while awaiting for the result of the post-mortem," he said.
