GUA MUSANG: The farmer who narrowly escaped a dangerous encounter when his motorcycle collided with a tiger here last night, has yet to lodge a police report on the incident.

District police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said police were informed that the 26-year-old man has yet to lodge a report as he was undergoing treatment at Gua Musang Hospital.

For the time being, Sik said police were informed that the state Wildlife Department has initiated an investigation into the matter.

"The district police's traffic unit has also been informed about the accident along Jalan Gua Musang-Jeli.

"The farmer was heading to Sungai Terah when the incident happened about 9.30pm. He fell from his bike and suffered injuries.

"The tiger ran into a nearby forest while the victim managed to seek treatment with the help of another motorist," he said in a statement.

It was reported that the crash occurred along Jalan Gua Musang-Jeli last night.

Muhammad Zulhilmi Mokhtar suffered injuries on his left leg and some bruises on his face after he fell from his machine.

He was heading to Sungai Terah to play badminton with his friends when the crash happened.

Following the incident, the state Wildlife Department has deployed a ranger team to investigate the incident.
