KUALA LUMPUR: Air quality in two areas has deteriorated to unhealthy levels on the air pollution index (API) as of 10am today.

An update on the Malaysian Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) website disclosed that the API reading in Petaling Jaya is 137 and Johan Setia 121.

Moreover, several other locations with unhealthy API readings are Seri Manjung at 114, Klang at 155, and Tangkak at 120 as of 8am.

The API scale used by APIMS categorises readings as follows: 0 to 50 (good), 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and any readings exceeding 300 as hazardous.

Simultaneously, 52 nationwide monitoring stations reported moderate API levels, while 11 areas enjoyed good API readings.
