PUTRAJAYA: Ahead of the tabling of the 2024 Budget, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spent some time mingling with the people when he visited the Mahmodiah Mosque's foodcourt in Presint 18 here today.

Clad in a light shade of purple baju melayu with a matching sampin, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, arrived at the foodcourt at 12.56pm.

Present to welcome his arrival was Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.

Anwar and Na'im greeted patrons at the foodcourt who included children, before they had a number of dishes prepared by operators at the premises which included 'asam pedas'.

The prime minister and Na'im later joined a congregation of some 1,000 people to listen to sermon titled 'Solidariti Pertahankan Palestin' (Solidarity to defend Palestine) before proceeding to perform the Friday prayers at the nearby mosque led by imam Abu Bakar Mohamad Noor.

After the performing the Friday prayers, Anwar is expected to launch the Prime Minister's Department's (Religious Affairs) Palestine Humanitarian Fund, which will be managed by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi).
