KUALA LUMPUR: Several videos of people complaining to the king and queen about the poor state of roads went viral yesterday.

The royal couple are currently driving across Sabah in the 'Kembara Kenali Borneo' programme.

In one video, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who is in the driver's seat of a white Toyota Land Cruiser, is greeting people when a woman's voice is heard.

"The condition of the roads here is really bad, Your Highness," the woman told Al-Sultan Abdullah.

In another video, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah is writing in a notebook as people greet her.

"I am writing it down, bad roads, so the roads here are in bad shape?" Her Highness can be seen asking in the video.

The concern, attentiveness and caring nature of Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah through pictures and videos that have since gone viral on social media received praise from many netizens.

The actions of some of the local folk in relating their grievances to the King and Queen has also garnered praise from members of the public for the willingness and bravery in speaking up about issues, problems and woes that are being faced.

"This is what we want because when we complain and air our grievances to the Public Works Department (PWD) or any other relevant authority we are not entertained," wrote one TikTok user Hyl Lieya.

"Good. Just tell the His Highness the Agong, only then perhaps will the Public Works Department come to their senses," wrote one TikTok user known as YBehsan.

"We really hope that His Highness the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong can come to Sabah once every six months, wrote another TikTok user known as Abdullah Jusoh Doll.
