GOMBAK: The remains of the late Datuk Seri Johari Harun, who died in a plane crash in Elmina, was safely buried at the Raudatul Sakinah Islamic Cemetery, here, today.

Johari's remains were brought by Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) hearse from Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) and arrived at Jamek Ar-Rahimiah Mosque, Klang prayed at 9.45am this morning.

The van carrying the deceased arrived at the cemetery with police escort at 11.52am today.

The funeral, which was attended by family members and relatives of the deceased, ended at about 12.15pm.

Also present to pay their last respects were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Also present were Deputy Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay; Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan and Army Fourth Division Commander Major General Datuk Anuar Abdul Wahab.

Earlier in Klang, more than 25 traffic officers arrived at the grounds of the Forensic Department of HTAR at around 8.50am.

They escorted each vehicle carrying the bodies of the Beechcraft 390 (Premier 1) plane crash victims in Elmina, Shah Alam, last Thursday to their respective hometowns for their final rites.
