KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has expressed his condolences over today's plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam.

In a short post on X, Amirudin urged the public not to spread images or unverified claims about the tragedy.

"I express my condolences to the victims involved in the tragic plane crash in Shah Alam this evening.

"I urge all parties not to spread images of the victims and not to give rise to any unfounded speculation out of respect for the victims' families.

"May all family members of the victims remain strong and steadfast in facing this trying moment," he said.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that today, a Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) registration number N28JV crashed near Elmina, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The aircraft, operated by Jetvalet Sdn Bhd, departed from Langkawi International Airport at 2:08pm and headed to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.

CAAM said six passengers and two flight crew were on board the ill-fated aircraft.

A state assemblyman from Pahang and the chief executive officer of an aviation company were believed to be among the 10 killed in the crash.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan also confirmed that apart from the eight onboard the aircraft, the remaining two were a car driver and a motorcyclist.

Both vehicles were hit by the aircraft.
