Following the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on handing out RM100 in e-Tunai credit to all adults in the country earning RM100,000 and below annually, some Malaysians have taken to social media to share their thoughts.

One Twitter user tweeted "This is the first time I'm getting something from the government ever since I started working."

Whilst another comment on Instagram said "to give aid to those who really need it".

Other netizens have expressed gratitude for the aid saying "rezeki jangan ditolak".

Meanwhile, some Malaysians are left unimpressed and questioning whether the RM100 payment would be enough to go the distance in an ever costly economy.

"RM100? A flash in the pan!" an Instagram user commented.

"It's just a bit of bait" another comment read.

Similarly, another user who is a self-employed single mother of three, reacted to the news saying that rather than receiving the RM100, she would like to know why her Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) got cut by RM1,000.

The one-off RM100 e-tunai aid costing the government RM1 billion is expected to benefit 10 million people in the B40 and M40 income category.

Anwar made the announcement at the launching of the "Madani Economy: Empowering the People" blueprint on the country's economic direction earlier today.
