KUALA LUMPUR: News aggregator app Lumi News has announced a series of exclusive News Stacks in collaboration with 10 current and former ministers from various political parties.

This partnership aims to provide Malaysians with access to exclusive content ahead of the upcoming state elections.

The latest version of the Lumi News app introduces new features such as live election results for all six states, official live broadcasts and live chats.

Through this collaboration, Lumi News seeks to connect political figures and Malaysians to important national topics ranging from sports and youth to climate change.

The participating politicians, including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Fahmi Fadzil and Hannah Yeoh will contribute materials and express their views on selected issues through the platform.

Lumi News chief executive officer Judith Yeoh said  Lumi News has always believed in giving people more access to information.

"It helps us build connections with each other and open ourselves to new ideas. We are excited to launch our exclusive News Stacks and Chat feature together, because this combination offers an extraordinary opportunity to foster dialogue, make people think, and hopefully, bring us all a little closer together," she said.

Lumi News growth marketing manager, Fildzah Zulkifli added: "It is an honour to be working with our country's leaders – both past and present – to create content that will inspire our audience, especially our active users who rely on Lumi News daily to receive news from trusted, reliable sources."

Lumi News introduced the News Stack feature last year, which compiles must-read articles and videos from local and international media on trending topics.

Typically curated by Lumi News' editorial team, News Stacks currently allow political figures and lawmakers to compile their own articles, videos, thought pieces and social media posts related to important topics in a single feed.

The team behind Lumi News has developed a user-friendly state elections page where Malaysians of all ages can easily access essential information about the elections.

Additionally, Lumi News users can now create their own user profiles and engage in real-time discussions with fellow Malaysians on the app. The introduction of this feature aims to encourage social engagement and facilitate discussions on current topics.

As the number one news aggregation app in the News & Magazines category on Google Play Malaysia, Lumi News hosts over 70 renowned local and international news sites, including New Straits Times, FMT News, SAYS, CoinGecko, KL Foodie and more.

The app covers a diverse range of topics such as Politics, Lifestyle, Food, Tech, Entertainment, Crypto, Sports and more, catering to over 200,000 users.

"Our winning formula is understanding our audience, delivering breaking news and being mindful of what's resonating. Our team is very responsive and quick to adapt to trends and needs, resulting in frequent app improvements and thoughtful features for our users," said Yeoh.
