KOTA KINABALU: The Federal Government has denied that 17 out of 21 matters in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) has been done or resolved as claimed by a leader from Parti Warisan (Warisan) recently.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali has refuted claims that the issue regarding the 17 matters has been resolved when Warisan were spearheading the Sabah state government.

"Firstly, do not ask me, ask Warisan what has been done or resolved. What do they mean by 17 matters have been done or resolved, and when was this done?

"Ask Warisan themselves because so far as the secretariat for MA63, there are not even 17 matters that have been resolved.

"I do not know from where Warisan got the notion or idea to come out and say that 17 matters, issues have been resolved.

"I I deny that the 17 matters have been resolved and I also have to deny that Warisan has resolved 17 of the reoccuring issues regarding MA63.

"I have to ask Warisan what is the definition of done or resolved for them. Is it done after it has been brought up, is it done after an agreement is reached or has it been done, resolved then," he questioned.

He said as such during a press conference after officiating the closing ceremony for the Sabah state operational streamlining and disaster management workshop here last night.

Recently, Warisan's information chief, Datuk Azis Jamman and Kota Belud Member of Parliament, Isnaraissah Munirah Majlis, in an interview broadcast live on Facebook, among other things, claimed that Armizan had stated in the Dewan Rakyat that 17 matters regarding MA63 had been completed.

Armizan said that the contex of actually resolving 17 matters in MA63 and carrying it out are more meaningful compared to saying that it is done without any action taken.

"When mentioning done or resolved arises, there is no need to wait for Warisan. Sabah leaders before Warisan existed have already raised issues regarding MA63.

"My answer refers to the querstion from Semporna's Member of Parliament (MP), Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal who raised and mentioned issues in the MA63 Special Cabinet Committee.

"The MA63 Special Cabinet Committee was during the period between 2018 to 2019. Questions pertaining to this we answer based on the decisions of the MA63 Special Committee and not that of the present action council," he said.
