KUALA LUMPUR: Former health minister turned radio announcer Khairy Jamaluddin failed to hold back his tears after listening to a recording of his children's messages in conjunction with Father's Day, which was celebrated yesterday.
The collection of endearing messages, recorded by Fara Fauzana, who is also a popular radio presenter on Hot FM, was intended as a surprise for her three fellow announcers.
Khairy, or KJ, who is part of HotFM's trio Bekpes Hot along with Johan and AG, was seen in a recording of the broadcast this morning unable to contain his emotions after listening to his children's loving words, to the point that he was teased by the other presenters.
"We love you, Papa. We celebrated Father's Day yesterday. We love you very much, Papa," said one of the sons of the former health minister.
Another one of KJ's sons said, "Knock, knock... who's there? Huppy... Huppy who?
"Happy Father's Day, Papa. I love you," he said.
As soon as he heard the messages from his children, KJ couldn't hold back his tears, wiping them away while smiling.
AG and Johan, who also happen to be celebrating their birthdays this week, were also touched by the wishes their children gave.
In addition to the birthday wishes, AG's five children, also described their father, formally known as Muhammad Azmir Selamat, as a superhero.
"Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I love you so much. No matter what happens, you are my 'superhero'.
"Happy Birthday," said one of his children.
Johan's children expressed their gratitude for being blessed with a responsible and great father.
"Sodiq wants to say thank you for supporting him all this time. Sodiq wants to pray for Papa to make his sustenance easier.
"Thank you for being the best dad all this time," said Sodiq, whose formal name is Ahmad Sodiq Hanania.
Surprised by the unexpected gift, the three radio presenters thanked Fara for the meaningful collection of Father's Day wishes.
