KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian man's dream to travel to Makkah on foot has received attention on social media, with netizens cheering him on his way.

Starting on Wednesday, Herry Nizam has embarked on a journey to Makkah by foot.

He started his expedition from Bidor, Perak and he is heading to the holy land to perform Umrah. 

The risk-taker has captured every moment of his trip and shared it on his TikTok account at Herrynizamshop (@herrynizam4).

His attempt went viral on the social media platform and gained full support from the community.

He is expected to arrive in 84 days and 10 hours, and expected to travel 10,161km.

Among the countries he will travel through are Thailand, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Herry is now in Sadao, Thailand and will continue his journey on Sunday.
