KUALA LUMPUR: Mercy Malaysia has despatched rapid assessment and emergency medical teams to provide flood aid in Johor.

Mercy Malaysia president Datuk Dr Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus said Mercy Malaysia had set up mobile clinics in Kluang, which was among the hardest flood-hit areas.

"Primary healthcare kits are being sent out and 500 sets of hygiene kits will be distributed to affected communities."

Faizal said in a statement today the rapid assessment teams would analyse the situation on the ground for holistic response planning.

"Mercy Malaysia's humanitarian response to the floods will be scaled-up to ensure structured coordination for emergency to recovery support."

Donors can make contributions to aid flood-hit areas through Mercy Malaysia's website at www.mercy.org.my.
