KUALA LUMPUR: The unity government's Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sealed between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and four political coalitions (PH) in December last year, can avert any future political crisis in the country.

PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said this was because a strong and good political understanding must exist between the alliances.

"I see that it is a good mechanism where everyone, including supporters and party leaders can see, study the MoU in detail without secrecy.

"For me, that will create a sense of confidence in each other," said the PKR information chief

Fahmi, who is Communications and Digital minister, said this at the launch of RTM as the official broadcast partner for the 2023 Malaysian League at Wisma Televisyen Angkasapuri, here, today.

Also present was ministry's secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek and RTM broadcasting director-general Suhaimi Sulaiman.

Fahmi also thanked Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan for saying that the party and Barisan Nasional (BN) would continue to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim until his term ends.

"To me, this is a good sign and it will boost stability. It is already strong and will be even stronger," he said.

Yesterday, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah said that the political crisis for almost four years could have been avoided if members of parliament and and politicians in the country set aside their differences and unite solely on the basis of protecting the country and its people's interest.

The King said his experience of having four prime ministers, with its respective cabinets throughout the few years, was historic and unforgettable.

He expressed hope for the current government led by Anwar to remain until the end of its term.
