KLUANG: A man in his 30s was killed when his sports utility vehicle crashed into a tree near a cemetery at Jalan Batu Pahat-Sri Lalang near here this morning.

According to the state Fire and Rescue Department, the deceased was extricated from the Honda CRV by officers from the Kluang fire station.

He was confirmed dead at the scene by an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) officer.

A distress call on the incident was received at 7.30am, and a team of eight firemen, an EMRS officer and a fire engine were despatched to the scene at 7.41am.

The operation ended at 9am.
