KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) has transferred the remains of Batang Kali landslide victims to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

A HKL spokesman said the hospital management transferred the remains of victims to Sungai Buloh Hospital after receiving instructions from the police.

However, he did not disclose details about the victims or the reasons for the transfer.

The hospital, he said, was awaiting instructions from the authorities before releasing details to the press.

Earlier, a police vehicle believed to be ferrying the bodies of victims from the landslide arrived at HKL's forensic unit at 12.20pm.

However, 10 minutes later, the remains were taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Fatalities from the incident have increased to 13 with 25 people still trapped at the incident site. Some 23 people escaped unhurt in the pre-dawn incident.

Seven injured victims have been sent for treatment to three hospitals: Hospital Selayang, Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Kuala Kubu Baru.
