IPOH: Eight members of a family were injured when their vehicle collided head on with another car at Km26 of Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands here this morning.
The victims, in a Perodua Alza, were headed from Simpang Pulai towards Cameron Highlands.
A Toyota Hilux, driven by a Bangladeshi man, was travelling in the opposite direction.
The reason behind the collision remains unknown for now.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the authorities were alerted to the incident at 11.05am.
A team from the Simpang Pulai fire station was then dispatched to the scene.
"The eight people in the MPV sustained multiple injuries. Members of the public tended to them before rescuers arrived," the spokesman said.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux was unhurt.
All victims were taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for further treatment.
