SETIU: The worsening flood situation in Terengganu have forced 17,185 people to leave their homes as at 6am today.

The floods affected 4,477 families who were evacuated to 140 relief centres statewide.

The respite in rainfall had little effect on the large volume of water flushed into major rivers which inundated low-lying areas downstream.

State Disaster Management Committee secretariat said it's record showed an increasing trend in the number of evacuees.
