MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) communications director Fahmi Fadzil slams authorities for compounding one of the party's candidate for wearing the PH logo during a campaign activity.
In a tweet today, Fahmi posted the RM4,000 compound notice which stated: "Carrying (out) Melaka state election campaign by having the candidate wearing a jacket with the Pakatan Harapan insignia."
The alleged offence is said to have taken place at one Warung Kak Pah, Kampung Melaka Pindah.
The compound was issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
Fahmi said the candidate who received the compound was Law Bing Haw, who is running for the Machap Jaya state seat.
"(This is) crazy, (getting) compounded for wearing the PH logo. (Sarcastically) This is because the logo spreads (a) virus.
"Not the Covid-19 virus, but the democracy virus; the virus which they fear the most."
