KUALA LUMPUR: The government plans to create 600,000 job opportunities next year under the Jamin Kerja Keluarga Malaysia (JaminKerja) job guarantee initiative.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the government is proposing an allocation of RM4.8 billion to implement this initiative.

The government through the Social Security Organisation (Socso), he said, would also continue its efforts to employ people through the implementation of the JaminKerja's salary incentive initiative.

He said the initiative, with a proposed allocation of RM2 billion, is expected to benefit 300,000 people.

This salary incentive initiative, said Tengku Zafrul, is for employers who recruit those who are not actively working with a monthly salary of RM1,500 and above.

"Employers will enjoy 20 per cent and 30 per cent in salary incentives for the first six months and the subsequent six months," he said in his speech when tabling the 2022 Budget.
