MELAKA: Former Melaka Agriculture, Livestock, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative committee chairman Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee has promised to return the official vehicle to the state secretary office.

He said he would hand it over as soon as possible, either today or tomorrow depending on a few things that needed to be resolved first.

"I do not want the car as I have my own. But, I am unhappy why other state executive councillors (exco) are still allowed to use their official vehicles even though there is no government at the moment?

"I hold on to the car as I am angry because only Datuk Seri Idris Haron, Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad and I are told to return the car while others free to travel using their official car," he said when contacted today.

All state Exco is currently using Toyota Camry. Idris and Noor Effandi were reported to have returned their official vehicles recently.

Norhizam also said it was unnecessary for Melaka State Secretary Datuk Kamel Mohamad to threaten him or other Excos with legal action should they reveal any of the State Executive Council secrets.

The former Pengkalan Batu assemblyman said Idris, Noor Effandi and himself did not reveal any secrets but questioned the formation of caretaker Barisan Nasional government which he claimed to be invalid.

"Don't try to intimidate us. Don't think that we do not know the difference between state executive council secrets and policies. We will never reveal any secrets as we have already taken oath (to safeguard them)," he said.

Norhizam, however, said he would continue to make statements against the caretaker government and the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly on Oct 4 which he alleged was done in non-compliance with the law.

Kamel recently reported to have denied Idris' claim of third party's involvement in state executive council's decision.

He stressed that all decisions were made together and there was no truth that matters were referred to a third party.

Kamel said all state executive council members had taken an oath of secrecy and the state government was looking into whether the oath had been violated before any decision on possible legal action to be taken against those involved.
