PUTRAJAYA: There is a likelihood that the Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) in Taman Sri Andalas will be relocated.

The Selangor Health Department said it would review the operations of the said CAC following complaints by residents in the neighbourhood.

Its director Datuk Dr Sha'ari Ngadiman said the residents had voiced concerns over the proximity of the hall with their homes and the residential scheme's main entrance road.

"We may relocate the CAC within two weeks to an area that has been identified. CAC Andalas was only opened yesterday to replace the small Bandar Botanik CAC.

"Residents are worried about the spread of the Covid-19," he said in a joint press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba and director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Dr Sha'ari said more policemen were deployed to control the traffic flow, while the area had been cordoned off to ensure the residents were not exposed to the Covid-19 patients.

Taman Sri Andalas residents yesterday had raised concerns over the CAC operating in their neighbourhood, questioning the suitability of its location.
