KUANTAN: The state government has introduced the "Pahang Covid-19 Immunisation System" (SICP) aimed at expediting the Covid-19 vaccination process for the people in the state.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail described the system as a "feeder" to the existing MySejahtera mobile application which was previously introduced by the federal government.

He said SICP's role is to gather data from potential vaccine recipients from related agencies, set appointments and hand over the information to MySejahtera to make notifications (on appointment dates) to the users.

"Potential vaccine recipients in Pahang can register and check on the SICP website on their appointments. All 32,000 recipients listed under phase one in Pahang have their details listed accurately on the SICP website.

"Under phase two, which begins next month, the state government has uploaded data of some 360,000 senior citizens, the disabled and those with chronic diseases into the SICP. The potential recipients only need to check the system and provide confirmation on the details so that the system will set their appointment dates," he said at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall here on Friday.

Wan Rosdy had earlier launched the SICP before he received the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, he said the information uploaded into SICP was gathered from several agencies including the state Welfare Department, health authorities, National Registration Department, Election Commission and Orang Asli Development Department.

Wan Rosdy said the SICP operations centre provides 12 mobile numbers which allow users to update their information or change their appointment schedule.

"To ensure the information in SICP is genuine, the state government mobilised volunteers, village headmen and Rukun Tetangga areas (KRT) to identify and check certain dubious information.

"Children can now help their elderly parents who do not have handphones to register through our system. Once the data matches and they have provided the required confirmation, then they will receive a notification on MySejahtera," he said.
