SETIU: Flood evacuees in Kemaman and Dungun increased to 1,077 people from 355 families who have sought shelter at 10 relief centres.

As at 6pm, Kemaman registered an increase in flood victims with 877 people from 274 families evacuated to four relief centres

In Dungun, 200 people from 61 families have been evacuated to three relief centres.

Terengganu disaster management committee secretariat Chief Lieutenant Colonel (PA) Che Adam A Rahman said heavy rain continues intermittently with strong winds along with coastal areas.

He said the public should avoid strolling by the beach and parents should prevent their children from playing in the floods.
