KUALA LUMPUR: My30 unlimited travel pass from Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) is now extended to Penang and Pahang starting today.

Rapid Bus chief executive officer Muhammad Yazurin Sallij said the unlimited travel pass that previously covered Klang Valley residents, would now benefit commuters of Rapid Penang buses via the Mutiara My30 travel pass and the Rapid Kuantan buses in Pahang via Lestari My30 travel pass.

"Residents in Penang and Pahang can now take unlimited rides on Rapid Penang and Rapid Kuantan for 30 days by purchasing the pass at only RM30 (valid for a month).

"I hope more Malaysians will take advantage of this initiate. We also hope to increase ridership for both Rapid Penang and Rapid Kuantan bus services.

"Subsequently, we hope to further extend the benefits of the unlimited travel pass, by rolling out P.U.L.S.E (Planning Your Lifestyle Efficiently) travel app in the middle of the year," he said in a statement today.

The My30 unlimited travel pass was introduced in May last year as part of the government's initiative to reduce the people's financial burden and to stimulate economic recovery and commercial activities.

The P.U.L.S.E app that was launched on Dec 17, 2020, informs users on the estimated arrival time of buses at popular tourist areas.

The app covers a range of services, such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), monorails, bus rapid transit (BRT-Sunway) and stage bus services offered by Rapid KL. It also includes the Jom Naik MRT feeder bus service.

The Mutiara My30 and Lestari My30 passes are available for Malaysian citizens only.

First-time users will be charged RM40, including RM5 for registration and another RM5 for the card. Users will only have to pay RM30 to top-up for subsequent uses.
