KUALA KRAI: The Kampung Belanga bridge which was under water yesterday morning following heavy rain, has been reopened to motorists.

Kuala Krai district police chief Superintendent Suzaimi Mohammad said the 35-metre long bridge was reopened yesterday evening after Sungai Pahi receded.

"All vehicles can now pass the bridge which connects Kampung Pahi to Kampung Temalir," he said in a statement.

Suzaimi said the authorities were however still monitoring the area.

The bridge was built more than 10 years ago and is used mainly by nearly 500 people from several villages.
