TUARAN: A senior citizen died after falling off from the third floor of her house at Taman Telipok Ria, here, this morning.
District police chief Deputy Superintendan Mohd Hamizi Halim, who confirmed the incident, said the 62-year-old woman was found lying on the ground by residents at 9.11am.
"She was pronounced dead from severe bleeding on the head by medical personnel who attended to her at the location.
"Her body was then sent to the Tuaran Hospital for a postmortem,” he said, adding that checks showed no one was at her house and the front door was locked.
The case was classified as sudden death but investigation continues.
It is learned that the victim was home alone while her family members were at work.
“We are unsure why the family members locked her in. It could be that they are worried about her safety, because on some occasions when she went out, she refused to come home,” he added.
