KUALA LUMPUR: Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak today said he had come across a Facebook site under his name which had been spreading malicious reports aimed at inciting the people.

He said he had gone through the postings and found they were all false and misleading.

“I was advised to lodge a report. Even prior to this, I had already mentioned that I am not too in favour of social media activities as I prefer going down to the ground to interact face-to-face with the people.

“So, perhaps now, I have to be more active to ensure there is no manipulation and abuse by certain irresponsible quarters out to create unnecessary problems,” he said in a statement.

The Perak PKR leadership has since lodged a police report on the fake FB account and another called “Pejabat Timbalan Setia” which had also been used to manipulate and deceive the people.

“I respect freedom of speech and there is nothing wrong if what had been posted was true.

“I urge the authorities to view this matter seriously and take action before any PKR members are unjustly accused of provoking the people and creating unrest,” he added.
