SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan police are refusing to comment on allegations by Nora Anne Quoirin’s parents that there was foul play in the death of their 15-year-old daughter at a resort here, last August.

State police chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusof said the matter couldn’t be ascertained pending a full post-mortem report which was expected to be completed soon.

“The full post-mortem report is expected to be received next year.

“However, we can’t determine when as this depends on reports from the Chemistry Department.

“Whether or not criminal elements were involved can only be determined after we receive the full report,” he told New Straits Times today.

Nora Anne was reported missing from a resort in Jalan Pantai on Aug 4, before her body was found 10 days later beside a stream, about 2.5km from her accommodation.

A post-mortem conducted on the teenager found that she had died of internal bleeding, probably caused by hunger and stress.

During an interview with international media yesterday, her parents, Meabh and Sebastian Quoirin, had claimed that criminal elements were involved in the death of their daughter, who had learning difficulties.

Asked about the request made by Nora Anne’s parents for the full post-mortem results, Mohammad said they would have to make the request to the authorities through their lawyer.

“It’s the procedure they have to follow,” he said.

On the family’s plan to proceed with the inquest, Mohamad said the matter was under the jurisdiction of the Attorney-General.
