SHAH ALAM: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Sri Kandi sees Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz as a person who can contribute to the party in many ways should she decide to make an entry as intended.
PPBM Sri Kandi chief Datuk Seri Rina Harun said this was because Rafidah, a former Umno veteran, was one who was not afraid to be frank about what she feels is necessary for the betterment of Malaysia.
“Even before the 14th General Election (GE14), she has been voicing her stance and spoke the truth to counter the untruth. Whatever she said represented the sentiments of Malaysians.
“So, as the Sri Kandi chief, I welcome Rafidah to be onboard with PPBM. She is a competent leader whether in politics or in business. She possesses the knowledge and experience that we need,” said Rina when met at the launching of the Seribu Seri programme held at SACC Mall today.
Rafidah, who was formerly International Trade and Industries Minister and Umno Wanita chief, recently voiced her intention to join PPBM.
Meanwhile, Rina said PPBM Sri Kandi had set the target to boost its membership to 200,000 by the end of 2019.
She said Sri Kandi now has 70,000 members aged between 18 and 45.
The Seribu Seri programme, which will be launched nationwide, was aimed at attracting more women to join the wing.
“Sri Kandi is just about a year old. When it was set up, we focused on our efforts to win the GE14. Now that we have succeeded, we want to be more active in getting more members and foster ties with the people, especially women, to be entrepreneurs, to help them generate their own income and network with their peers,” said Rina.
