SERI ISKANDAR: A security guard was found dead with a gunshot wound at the security post of a medicine factory in Taman Farmasi here, last night.

The 37-year-old Orang Asli man from Tronoh, who had worked at the factory for three years, is believed to have been shot by his own colleague.

The shooting is thought to have occurred at between 7.30pm and 8pm, and the suspect fled the scene soon after.

Police were alerted to the incident at 8.25pm.

“When police arrived at the location, they found the victim on the floor with a gunshot wound to the chest. It is believed the victim was shot at close range,” central Perak district police chief Superintendent Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said.

He added that police are tracking the missing security guard to assist in the investigation, which will be conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
