NILAI: A factory worker died after he was rammed by a lorry driven by his worker at the Nilai Industrial Park here last night.

In the 10.15pm incident, S. Ganesan, 31, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot.

A police source said the 51-year-old lorry driver was unloading timber at the time of the incident.

“The driver said he failed to notice the victim walking past the heavy vehicle and drove into him by accident.

“The area was dark and the driver realised what he had done only after he was alerted by his co-workers,” the source told the New Straits Times when contacted today.

He said the victim’s body has been sent to

Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban for post-mortem.

“The police have collected the driver’s blood samples for a toxicology test to determine whether he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

“The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and investigations are still underway,” he said.
