WANGSA MAJU: Eighty children from Tahfiz Al Hidayah Gombak were brought on a shopping trip to buy Raya clothes, courtesy of Petronas Dagangan Berhad (Petronas).

Its Central Region Retail head, Khairu Najhan Zainuddin, said it was the first time the children were brought along to the shopping in the programme called Jalinan Ukhwah Ramadan.

“This is to allow them to choose their own clothes, with assistance from the school teachers and Petronas associates. Previously, the clothes were bought by our staff and sent to the home.

“We want the children to feel the joy of Raya shopping, which is part of Raya preparation,” he said when met at the programme held at a shopping mall here, today.

The students are aged between one and 17.

Khairu said the company has allocated over RM30,000, a sum collected from 98 petrol stations and 89 business partners in the Klang Valley, as well as individual donors, for the programme.

“We also handed duit raya for the children and cash aid to the centres,” he added.

The children were later brought for a buka puasa at a restaurant there.
