KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), committed in its corporate social responsibility endeavours for the local community, has channelled RM50,000 in contributions for their Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparations.

TNB chief corporate officer Datuk Wira Roslan Ab Rahman said the contribution was distributed to 100 underprivileged families at the Abdullah Hukum and Putra Ria Apartments.

"Each family received a total of RM500; RM400 in cash and RM100 in the form of essentials for the kitchen.

"The contribution is part of TNB’s corporate social responsibility in line with the government’s vision that government-linked companies help in alleviating the burden faced by the underprivileged,” he said at the event which was officiated by Lembah Pantai member of parliament Fahmi Fadzil.

Roslan said the programme was being held for the second time, with an increase in the number of those receiving aid.

At the same event, TNB contributed four air conditioning units for the multipurpose hall of the residential area.

Additionally, TNB also offered education aid to 54 students from three schools around Bangsar involving contributions of RM1,500 a month for three years.
