ALOR STAR: The Kedah state government’s '100 day' promises will be carried out after the appointment of 10 state executive councillors, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
He said the water issue was the top agenda for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state government.
He added that the new state government would take into account views from PKR, DAP, Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), before introducing any state policy.
“This is a different political approach from when I was the Menteri Besar for the first time in 2013. We will discuss in the Council of Pakatan Harapan chairmen at the state level before the matter is brought to the state government level,” he told reporters after officially stepping into office at Wisma Darul Aman here today.
He was welcomed by state Finance Officer Datuk Ammar Shaikh Mahmood Naim and private secretary to Menteri Besar Datuk Arminshah Siraj.
On the water issue, Mukhriz said the state government would carry out a detail study on the problem before finding the best solution to overcome it. 
He has also directed all state government and state government-linked companies to temporarily stop the expenditure for any project that costs more than RM100,000 pending evaluation.
“The directive was given because it came to my knowledge that several contracts were signed two days before the general election, which should have not happened in a caretaker government.
“I will seek the advice from the state Legal Advisor’s office whether the letter of award is valid since it was issued when the government is acting as caretaker,” he said.
The Jitra assemblyman also said that the state government would review the state 2018 Budget that was passed by the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) government last November.
