KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) will continue to give strong importance to development of infrastructure for the people (Infra Rakyat) including rail service projects.

BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the government would continue with its projects involving the Mass Rapid Transit 2 (MRT2) and MRT3, Light Rail Transit phase 3 project, Gemas-Johor Baru rail, High Speed Rail, East Coast Rail Link and Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link.

For Johor, Najib said the North-South Expressway from Yong Peng to Johor Baru would be widened from a four-lane to six lanes highway.

As for Melaka, Najib said BN pledged that a new highway from Kuala Linggi – Masjid Tanah-Klebang to Teluk Mas would be built.
