KUALA LUMPUR: The Harian Metro (HM) website continues to lead the way when it comes to news portal in Malaysia in 2017.

According to the latest statistics released by the digital meter ComScore Inc, HM’s official website, www.hmetro.com.my, recorded 48.1 million unique online browsers throughout the past year in the news and information categories.

For the fourth quarter, HM also came in first place with a total of 12.9 million online browsers.

In the third quarter of last year, the HM website recorded a total of 13.1 million unique online browsers.

The amount increased from 12.2 million unique online browsers recorded in the second quarter of 2017.

For the first quarter, HM recorded a total of 10.1 million unique online browsers.

In the video segment, MetroTV, which currently has more than 126,381 followers on YouTube, recorded 43.7 million views.

For its social websites, myMetro Facebook (FB) page recorded more than 4.672 million likes, while HM’s official Twitter is now followed by over 806,000 followers.

Meanwhile, the Berita Harian website, www.bharian.com.my, recorded a total of 41.06 million unique views last year, coming in second behind HM.

The two New Straits Times Press publications led The Star (38.4 million unique browsers); Sinar Harian (36.9 million) and MalaysiaKini (33.07 million).
