SEREMBAN: What was supposed to be a special dinner with their lecturer turned into a tragedy for two friends, who were killed in an accident involving three vehicles at Jalan Mantin-Pajam here last night.

Muhammad Syafiq Izwan Afzanul Rizal and Mohamad Ashraf Jalaluddin, both 21, died at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Seremban (TJHS) at 9.45pm due to serious head injuries.

Nilai police chief Superintendent Zaldino Zaludin said the accident occurred when a car lost control and skidded into the opposite lane before colliding with another car and motorcycle.

"Two car drivers in the accident were also seriously injured and are still being treated at the TJHS," he said here today.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Syafiq's father, Afzanul Rizal Abd Rahman, 44, said he was informed that his son, the eldest of four, was on his way to a restaurant to meet his lecturer.

"They had just completed the final examination for the semester, so before they left for their long break, my son and his friend had planned to have dinner with their lecturer.

"He was a responsible son. He had expressed his intention to help me expand my electrical wiring business after he completed his studies,” he said when met at the TJHS Forensic Unit here today.

He said his son's remains will be buried at the Kampung Kubur Muslim Cemetery, in Pontian Johor.

Mohamad Ashraf's father, Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman, 46, said he was devastated by the passing of his son - the eldest of two.

"I had been keeping his old driver's license inside my wallet as a keepsake for the past two years ... It looks like I will be keeping it forever," he said, adding that his son’s remains will be buried at the Kampung Sungai Katan Muslim Cemetery Centre, Kajang Selangor.
