KAJANG: Eleven boys were arrested by the police yesterday for riding modified bicycles.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Yusoff said the boys, aged between 11 and 16, were detained at Taman Semenyih Mewah here at 5.30pm.

“An enforcement team went to the scene after receiving a tip-off. We picked up 11 boys and seized 11 modified bicycles (basikal lajak).

“Our Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department then issued 11 summonses under Rule 11 and 42(1) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59) for modifying the brake and bell.

All boys were later released.
