TONGOD: Members of the search and rescue (SAR) team on Thursday found the body of a man, who was reported missing in the forest reserve of Kampung Minusoh since Monday.

The man identified as Salmin Ramatan, 37, was last seen by his wife leaving their house for their orchard at 2.30pm on October 9.

His wife became worried when he did not return home from the trip because the man was suffering from heart problems.

She alerted family members, who together with other villagers, set out to look for him in the around the orchard yesterday.

When their search proved to be futile, family members then contacted the Telupid/Tongod Civil Defence Department (APM) for assistance at 7.35pm.

Telupid/ Tongod APM officer Lieutenant Amrin Amirun said 48 personnel from the APM, Rela, Tongod police and villagers separated into three teams to search for the missing man from 8.45am this morning.

His body was located at 9.30am and his remains have been handed over to the police for further actions, Amrin said.
