POKOK SENA: The state government plans to revive two abandoned housing projects which have affected 180 buyers in Kuala Kedah and Langkawi by next year.

State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Badrol Hisham Hashim said the state government was now in talks with the relevant agencies to revive the projects.

He said he was confident that the two projects would be revived after the state government successfully revived and completed the construction of two other abandoned projects in Kedah.

"We are in discussions with the Abandoned Housing Projects Division under the National Housing Department to find a solution to the two abandoned projects," he said.

Badrol Hisham urged the buyers of the projects in Kuala Kedah and Langkawi to be patience as the state government would resolve their problems.

"We fully understand that they have been waiting for 10 years and we will find the solutions," he said after presenting keys to 91 house buyers at Bandar Sejahtera Town Housing Project Phase 1, Zone 2 today.

The project, with gross development value of RM25.8 million, is developed by Kynetics Land Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of state investment arm Kedah Development Corporation.

It comprises of 95 units of double-storey terrace houses with price starting from RM230,000.
