BACHOK: Malaysian police will be put on alert following the increase in terrorist's attacks overseas including the latest in London on Saturday night, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the anti-terrorism unit at the Federal Police in Bukit Aman would also be beefed up and led by a senior officer.

Zahid said the unit would be raised to a division and it's personnel and officers increased.

"We believed prevention is better than cure.

"We reject terrorist’s acts not only in Malaysia but wherever it happens," he said at the Penerapan Nilai Murni programme at the Mahmudi mosque here, this evening.
